Hi, my name is George!

they/them/theirs

Hi, I’m George (they/them). I am a non-binary, mad and disabled peer specialist working within anti-carceral frameworks. I offer supervision, one to one support and workshops for folks who work professionally as peer workers, lived experience leaders and anyone who is looking for tools to support grounding in disability justice, mutual aid and abolitionist strategies and approaches to mental health care.

I have extensive experience working within the suicide support space, LGBTQ+ mental health, community support and is the founder of the NSW based LGBTQ+ alternatives to suicide group.

From supporting folks who experience life interrupting emotional crisis one on one, to leading workshops, to individual supervision, I have had the privilege of working with brilliant people across so called Australia who are shifting cultures and changing the conditions of mental health support everyday.

My advocacy, work and passions revolve around community care - I believe in collective responsibility, alternatives to carceral intervention and radical disability justice and I approach my supervision and practice with this at the center. I am committed to living with integrity and I aim to work in ways that are both collaborative and co-creative, with individuals and within our communities.

What I do

  • IPS co-reflection for Peer teams.

  • Training for managers in supporting peer workers and peer leaders.

  • Individual peer supervision.

  • Diversity, Access and Inclusion Consultation for teams and organisations.
